Admission requirements
A candidate for the degree of Master of Theology (Research) must comply with the .
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed:
- an undergraduate degree in Theology (or equivalent) with Honours at a minimum level of Second Class Division A; OR
- a Master of Theological Studies with a distinction average or higher in THEL623 Theology Project C and THEL619 Introduction to Theological and Philosophical Research (or equivalent); and
- a specialisation in one of the theological disciplines, or philosophy as it relates to theology.
Meeting the requirements for admission is not in itself a guarantee of admission. The candidate*s potential to undertake research, the quality and feasibility of the research proposal, the availability of appropriate supervision and the referee*s reports will all be taken into consideration.

Completion requirements
To qualify for the degree, a student must complete 80 cp, consisting of:
- 80 cp from Thesis A (Part A); OR
- 60 cp from Thesis B (Part B); and
- 20 cp from Coursework units (other than Religious Education units) listed in the Schedule of Unit Offerings for the Master of Theological Studies (Part C).
